Archy (AKA. King Krule) is someone you naturally have high hopes for when attending one of his shows. Onstage Krule presents a dichotomy of sorts with a strong baritone voice and indie rock aesthetic.
The vocals could not have sounded better for Archy's set, and it was one of the best vocal performances I've seen in 2023. Further the way Krule moved about the stage was nothing short of watching someone experiencing a flow state. The level to which Krule was comfortable alternating between slow tracks and abrasive bangers was the textbook example of how a live performance should be.

During the middle of the set, the lights turned the stage into silhouettes draped in warm, soft light. Similar to my experience with BC,NR, Archy was able to gradually build sounds, making every single note and vocal inflection important.

Throughout the entire show, the crowd was heavily involved screaming during and after each performance. I was surprised to see people moshing at the event. From what I had heard from Krule, it was primarily mellow, introspective works - but seeing him live changed my perception of him.

Overall, this was an incredible show, and I would highly recommend attending one of his shows.
