What do you think the main difference is between someone who is chronically online as a music fan vs. a casual listener?
Johnny: The chronically online fan dives into the culture of an artist’s music, usually in an elitist fashion. The casual listener just wants to listen to something in the background.
Jupiter: A casual listener also usually doesn’t try to doxx the artist.
A lot of your music journalism is boots on the ground, interviewing various fans + artists at shows. Inevitably these sorts of interactions bring about interesting responses.
Tell us about some of the strangest interactions you have had with concertgoers.
Johnny: Someone pulled a knife on me once because I accused them of having sex with their sister. I'm pretty sure I was right too. We just walked away and he didn't follow us.
Jupiter: I met someone who said they did ketamine with SOPHIE. He told me it was one of the most valuable experiences of his life. He refused to talk about it on camera, so we put our phones away and he told us a bunch of crazy things that would never see the light of day. The whole video was scrapped anyways.
Your channel makes fun of so many different styles + genres of music; it almost makes everything cringe.
Have you transcended cringe and or fallen into any of these cringe fan bases?
We've never met a person in real life that has called us cringe before. It's only on the internet. Those people aren't real, so it's safe to say we've transcended cringe.
What do you think AI's impact will be on the music industry?
Johnny: Youtube will have 10,000 times more Type beats but that's it.
Jupiter: the other day I saw an AI robot kill itself after 15 minutes of manual labor. Not joking. It was one of those Boston Dynamics robots. If it can't handle 15 minutes of that, what makes you think it could handle being smoked out by Lil Flash?
What new artists are on your radar in 2023? Either for the sake of fanbase material or good music that others should listen to?
Johnny: I have a few that I follow and am in contact with. We might collaborate soon so I don’t want to spoil anything.
Jupiter: I have a few in mind, actually. I knew them personally. I’ll let the fans try and find out who they are. Other than that, I suggest new artists take influence from Dawson’s Creek. And that’s not a joke. I’ve seen the show 2 times by now and want NeoPunk fans to know it’s my obsession.

What YouTubers are you looking to collaborate with on this series in the future?
We want to collaborate with artists on that in the future. Probably a rapper that doesn’t know anything about music with guitars in it.
What's next for NEOPUNK FM?
Johnny: Documentaries, movies, higher production stuff. Also some traveling.
