Honestly, I didn’t want to go out tonight. Coming off not much sleep and four days of shooting I needed a break. Around an hour before Slayyyter’s set I said ‘f*** it,’ and went downtown for the show. In retrospect I am so glad I did.
I’ve been aware of Slayyyter’s hyper sexualized pop-persona for sometime and always vibed with the work she’s put out. With a wide variety of hits and time in the underground I knew Slayyyter was going to put on a stellar performance.
At events like this the crowd is predominantly LGBTQ+ with amazing make-up and unique personalities. Taking in this crowd environment coupled with Slayyyter’s unique persona viewers were destined for a high-energy affair.
This show was on a Monday as well which I thought was funny that it was one of the most lit crowds I’ve seen this year. Slayyyter came out dressed in all white. The stage replicating a high class retro bar with all white carpets and exteriors. The stage even came complete with a bartender/DJ which captured the 'Club Valentine' aesthetic perfectly (even came with martinis).
I absolutely loved the LED lights that were projected across the stage depicting various imagery and 3D rendered patterns. Slayyyter can hold her own with any of the high-profile pop acts I’ve seen.
I would implore you check out a Slayyyter performance before she’s filling massive venues.
